Japan Railways' Tokaido Line introduced a colourful train called SHONAN=DENSYA Series 80(said to have referred to the colour of traditional fruit MIKAN, similar to orange, famous in the Shonan area) Its design was actually particular in the 1950s , when most of the Japanese trains were painted in monotonous dark brown . So, it gave a refleshing image to postwar people in Japan. Series 113 (this movie's very content) was steel-made and had strong motor, which followed the first generation of SHONAN-DENSYA : Series80. Of course, the colour concept was pricelessly successed to this Series113. However, with the technological improvement and need for rationality, Series113 trains all retired from Tokaido-Line by March 17th, 2006, giving its way to stainless silver-colored new trains like Series211 or 231,
